Ainda jovem, viajou até à Inglaterra onde estudou academicamente caligrafia. Em Inglaterra foi o calígrafo da coroa britânica e é um dos membros mais profícuos do coletivo internacional Calligraphy Masters. Embora tenha vivido a grande maioria da sua vida adulta em Inglaterra, o Paul mudou-se recentemente para Portugal, Setúbal, onde vive feliz no campo e onde tem o seu estúdio PAscribe - Scriptorium. Paul Antonio desenvolveu esta grelha da sua série de grelhas da mão Copperplate para melhor ajudar os praticantes a obter mais informações sobre como escrever com mais precisão as minúsculas características deste estilo caligráfico. Esta aula concentrar-se-à no trabalho com lápis e inclui uma demonstração de caligrafia com aparo pontiagudo.

“Paul antonio is one of the best calligraphers in the world. He was born in Trinidad and was interested in calligraphy from an early age. As a young man, he traveled to England where he studied calligraphy academically. In England he was one of the British crown calligraphers and he is one of the most fruitful members of the international Calligraphy Masters collective. Although he has lived most of his adult life in England, Paul has recently moved to Portugal, Setúbal, where he lives happily in the countryside and has his PAscribe-Scriptorium studio. Being so close to us now, we obviously had to invite him to share his knowledge with us!”

This workshop will focus on the minuscules of Copperplate Script using the PAScribe Training Wheels. Paul Antonio developed this grid out of his series of copperplate script grids to better help practitioners gain more insight into how to more accurately write copperplate script minuscules. This class focuses on pencil work and will include a demonstration on pointed nib calligraphy.
